“Strandboxen” – Exhibition containers built for Brøndby Municipality
For Brøndby Municipality, DC-Supply A/S – Danish Container Supply delivered a set of exhibition containers based on 20-ft ISO containers.
The exhibition containers – aptly named “Strandboxen”, are to be used as a combined meeting and exhibition place in connection with the urban development process called “Fremtidens Brøndby Strand”. The project is slated to run for the next twenty years, intending to improve both the urban architecture of the surroundings as well as the social framework of the area.

Custom-built exhibition containers provide information and welcome the citizens
The two custom-built containers, together forming “Strandboxen” welcome the citizens, providing updated information about the project “Fremtidens Brøndby Strand”. Here, visitors can delve into the history of Brøndby Strand – and also catch a glimpse of the future by means of the exciting development awaiting the area. For this DC-supply A/S delivered a custom-built solution based on standard ISO containers – One exhibition container has had all sides removed, being replaced with large airy glass sections including a door entrance section in the end wall. The second side door container – hides a full glass front securely and safely behind the sturdy side doors.
Both exhibition containers are painted in a bright “Brøndby yellow” colour, with nice contrasting black frames for the door and window sections. Inside, the exhibition containers have ceilings lined with plywood, balancing out with their rustic appearance, and adding a little cosiness and charm to the glass and metal materials. The glass container is also equipped with built-in ceiling spots, and the side door container has a ceiling rail with white, swivel spots. Supplying both exhibition containers with the power needed is a roof-mounted solar cell system combined with a battery pack.
The exhibition containers were delivered ready for further finishing setups, and come prepped for various technical installations such as internet connections. Brøndby Municipality was responsible for the final design of the exhibition containers – including the unique flooring with a map of the surrounding area and the cosy wooden terrace installed around Strandboxen.
