Container sizes and weight.
Container dimensions, sizes & weight are always an important factor when deciding what type of container to use in a given project. Here, the purpose of use is of course of crucial importance – is it a custom solution that must be rebuilt and arranged for a specific purpose, or do you need a container with extra height for transporting oversized goods?
At DC-Supply A/S – Danish Container Supply, we offer many sizes of containers – for example, you can buy or rent both new and used standard containers in sizes from the very small 6-foot containers to the large 40-foot containers. Concerning custom design of containers, container sizes & weight are of crucial importance – and are of course always part of the considerations when we calculate, design and produce a solution.

FAQ about container sizes and weight

How much does a container weigh?
There is no standard weight – container weight depends on size, layout – and if the container is insulated or not, etc.

How long is a container?
Our smallest container is a 6 foot container with an outside length of 1975 mm. Our largest container at 12192mm long – is the 40 foot container.

How tall is a container?
The height of our containers vary – depending partly on the container being either a standard, high cube or an open top version, and partly dependent on the container’s foot size (6, 8, 10, 20 or ft container).

How wide is a container?
The outside width of a container depends on the size of the container in question. A standard ISO 6 ft container measures 1975 mm wide, an 8 ft is 2195 mm, with 10 ft, 20 ft and 40 ft all being 2438 mm wide.
