DC-Supply A/S – Danish Container Supply delivered a custom hydro container built for plant growth. Inside this specialised hydro container, Voks cultivates and grows their own plants in water, enabling them to deliver fresh plants to customers.

The hydro container is custom-built for this specific purpose based on Voks’ specification for both its interior design and also its exterior look – The hydro container is cladded in Kalmar wood on the outside, blending it nicely into existing surroundings.

Promoting plant growth in a custom-built hydro container

The 3×6 meter custom-built hydro container is painted in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) on the outside and clad in kalmar wood, giving the facade a rustic and welcoming look.

Inside, the hydro container is fitted with a tough vinyl floor with a raised edge all the way around, making cleaning very easy. Any spillage on the floor that may happen from cultivating plants in water is, therefore, nothing to worry about.

Inside – the insulated container is equipped with white (RAL 9010) wall panels, with ample heating being supplied by two 750W electric radiators. For the optimal cultivation of plant growth, good lighting is also very important. Therefore, the hydro container has two LED ceiling luminaires installed along with four 230V lamp sockets. This provides Voks with flexible interior design options, as they can equip the facilities with the exact type of lighting that is needed for any specific type of plant growth.

The hydro container comes equipped with a kitchen area consisting of two double cabinets on a plastic base. On top, is a waterproof tabletop including a built-in sink and mixer tap. The kitchen is also equipped with a flow water heater (located in the base cabinet) along with a BWT water system, thereby ensuring optimal water quality and minimal lime content – both important for plant growth. Additionally, the water and drain connections are both external, simplifying relocation of the hydro container if needed.
