Standardized shipping containers for cargo freight

A shipping container – or ISO container as it is actually called – is built according to the specifications of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO standardization ensures that shipping containers meet the requirements for both size and durability, so that they can be stacked safely and uniformly on ships, trains, trucks and aircraft. ISO containers are inspected every 30 months by a certified inspector to ensure that the container is within specifications and still meets standard requirements. At DC-Supply A/S you can buy or rent a standard ISO shipping container in sizes 20 ft and 40 ft. Both container sizes are approved for shipping (CSC approval), and if you want remodelling or custom adaptation, we can take care of this in our own workshop. We also provide recertification after conversion, so the container retains its freight approval completely as a standard container.

Extra storage space with a shipping container

Ship containers do not necessarily have to be sent around the world all the time. The robust and weather-resistant metal box is also extremely suitable for extra storage space, both on the construction site, at your existing domicile – or when the house at home needs to be rebuilt. If you choose an insulated version, you also ensure that the goods inside the container are not exposed to moisture or condensation. At DC-Supply A/S, we can, for example, equip your extra storage space with removable shelves, heating or light, just as we have a wide selection of container locks, so you can secure the goods inside the container extra well. We are also happy to deliver and pick up the container, no matter where in the world you need it.

FAQ about shipping containers

    What characterizes a shipping container?

A shipping container is a standard container that is mainly used for freight. A shipping container is built according to specifications from ISO (International Organization for Standardization) – hence the term ISO container. The standardization ensures that a shipping container meets standard requirements for e.g. size and durability so that the containers can be stacked and transported safely.

    What sizes are shipping containers?

Shipping containers come in many types and standard sizes, but 90% of the world’s container fleet is either 20 ft or 40 ft in size. A shipping container, also called an ISO container or intermodal container, is built for intermodal cargo transport, which means the container can be used across transport types – from ship to train to truck – without the need to unload and reload cargo.

CSC-approved ISO container – let us help you find your standard shipping container

A CSC-approved ISO shipping container is made to transport many types of goods over large distances. Thus, container capacity in ports, on ships, etc. is also calculated in TEU’s (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) – which means 20-ft equivalent units in relation to ISO containers. The standardised dimensions for shipping containers mean that the containers can be used for intermodal transport, so that the freight cargo does not have to be unloaded and loaded from one unit to another, but can be transported directly across the type of transportation, regardless of whether your container and thus your goods are to be carried by plane, train, truck or ship. Standardised shipping containers are available in 20-ft and 40-ft sizes with CSC approval for transport. Today, 90% of all international goods are transported in containers, and the ISO standard for containers has gradually also affected several other transport systems worldwide. At DC-Supply A/S you will meet a team of experts in sale and rental of containers – also when it comes to shipping containers and offshore containers or rebuilding of these.
